      WOODLAND INDEPENDENT, Thursday, June 29, 1950
      Mrs. Anna E. Prather dies:
      Funeral services for Mrs. Anna E. Prather, 91, Monitor resident for many years, were held Saturday at Canby. Interment was in Miller cemetery near Silverton.
      Mrs. Prather died last Wednesday at the home of her daughter in Canby after a long illness. She was born April 12, 1859 in Illinois. Mrs. Prather came to Oregon in 1881 and had lived most of the time since. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. H. G. Hartman of Canby; a granddaughter; one great granddaughter; and one great great granddaughter; and two sons Ben and Glen of Monitor.

      Mr.and Mrs. Samuel Prather of Monitor,oregon,celebrated their golden
      anniversary at their home,Sunday,January 24,and it was an occasion of much
      enjoyment to all friends and relatives fortunate to be present.
      Mr.Prather,a native of Pennsylvania,was born May 11,1851.Anna Gibbons was
      born inIllinois,April 12,1858.They were united in marriage on January 24,1876
      in Iowa.In the year 1880 Mr.and Mrs.Prather moved to Oregon and settled near
      Monitor where they have since resided.
      They have four childen,namely;Mrs.H.C.Hampton of Canby,Ore.;Benj.S.,Glen
      E.,and mrs.H.E.Jacobsen,all of Monitor;and twelve granchildren who are
      Mrs.Floy Hartman Olson of Los Angeles,Cal.;Mrs.Bernice hartman
      Brown,Silverton.;Naomin and Eldon Hartman of Canby,;Clio and Roland
      Prather .They are also the proud possessers of five great grandchildren as
      follows:Arden and Mary jane Olson,and Ardelma,Francis and Robert Brow.The
      three generations were all present to enjoy this wonderful occasion.Others who
      were present at the golden wedding and family reunion were:Mr.and Mrs.
      H.C.Hartman,Mrs.B.Prather,Mrs.Glen Prather,H.E.Jacobsne,Sherley Brown,Mr.and
      Mrs.B.S.Prather,brother of the honor guest,Kern Prather,Mr.and Mrs.Geo. doyer
      and their three daughters,Ruth,Doris, and Doothy,Mr.and Mrs.C.D.Hartman of
      Silverton.After the day spent visiting and enjoying a fine dinner,and wishing
      the happy couple manmore anniversaries,the compan departed for their
      respective homes declaring it a most pleasnat function.
